Bike Shed L.A. Opens Autumn/Fall 2020
Just five years after opening the original Bike Shed Motorcycle Club in Shoreditch, London, we’re breaking ground at our second location in the Arts District in downtown Los Angeles. Opening Autumn/Fall 2020, Bike Shed L.A. will be a 30,000 square-foot clubhouse to be enjoyed by all: motorcyclists, enthusiasts, adventurers, explorers, creatives, free-thinkers, friends and families.
Our restaurant will serve freshly-cooked unpretentious food and drink; our retail emporium will offer curated apparel and goods from the best brands in or on the edge of the motorcycling community; the barber shop and tattoo studio will be buzzing every day; and our 7,000 square-foot event space will be home to art, photography, pop-up shows and events, and whatever else our beloved community asks for, with a clear connection to our London roots.
If you’ve visited our arches in London, you know that The Bike Shed Motorcycle Club is a respite from a world that wants us to believe we’re more connected than ever before, when really we’re straying from any sort of honest connection, forgetting what it is to shake hands, break bread, share stories and laugh late into the night. BSMC is an analogue island where we can escape from our increasingly digital lives to be amongst other people, breathe the same air and share our unique perspectives and ideas.
We aspire to uplift each other, encourage each other to seek out new experiences, and find common ground beyond motorcycling. We pride ourselves in being inclusive, because for far too long, and for reasons beyond our understanding, the traditional motorcycling community has intimidated non-riders who are nonetheless excited by motorcycle culture.
The fact is, there’s no wrong way to appreciate motorcycling, and while we want to introduce as many people as possible to the inimitable joy of life behind handlebars, we couldn’t care less how you arrive at BSMC in London or in L.A., only that you stop by and experience the Bike Shed Motorcycle Club for yourself.
