To celebrate the ground-breaking at our soon-to-open Los Angeles clubhouse, Bike Shed Moto Co. collaborated with America’s first motorcycle company, Indian Motorcycle, to create an exclusive apparel collection. The project started last year while we were searching through L.A. for a suitable location to build our first American clubhouse. Indian Motorcycle reached out after it heard we were setting up shop in the States, and it didn’t take long before we decided to roll out a clothing collection that celebrated our shared passion for two wheels and the open road. Soon our pin boards were filled with inspirational images: photos from vintage flat track, hand-painted advertisements, Americana letterset, baseball raglans and caps. Design mock-ups flitted back and forth between continents; fabric swatches were sought, rejected, and approved; embroideries were picked at; prints tried and dried; and the details done and dusted. The BSMC x Indian Motorcycle collection includes: three tees, three caps, two raglans, a sweat, a vest, and a racing jersey made for dust ovals and dirt tracks, days out and days in. The culmination of the project manifested in an unbelievable day: Brat Style founder Go Takamine wore our collaboration jersey as he ripped around a SoCal dirt track on his beloved tank-shift Indian Scout, and at the exact same time BSMC founder Dutch and Vikki received approval from L.A.’s City Hall to start building The Bike Shed Los Angeles.
